Whilst many car rental companies will not hire cars to persons under 25. Cheap-Car-Rental are able to rent cars to persons between the ages of 21 and 25 but there is a supplement to pay.
Sat Navs
It is possible to arrange the hire of GPS or SatNav when collecting your rental car.  The cost is about US$10 a day.
Advance reservations
Peak dates such as Christmas, Easter High season dates need to booked in advance as demand exceeds supply. In Canada you must book any car requirements between mid July and end of September months in advance otherwise you are likely to be disappointed.

  However, whilst other dates should not be problem it is still a very good idea to book and pay in advance because the prices offered for car hire in USA , and car hire in Canada by companies such as cheap-car-rental are very much cheaper.  Also it is a useful check that the office is open when you want to collect the car

These will need to be requested at the same  time you reserve your car. They will need to be paid for at the time the car is collected and are charged at local rates
Do I need a credit card
Yes, you must have either a Visa,  Mastercard or AMEX card when you collect your card.  A debit card or cash is not acceptable.  Also do remember your driving licence
One Way Rentals
It is possible to make one way rentals but they must be requested at the time of booking.  A good web site will show the extra cost if any of a one way rental and these extra charges need to paid at the commencement of the rental
